Property Tax: I have always felt that it is unjust for a person to work their entire life to pay off their home and legally own it, only to be treated as a mere tenant by virtue of having to pay property tax. Remember, Government does not own private property and has no moral financial claim to it. If elected I will work to trim government spending and reduce property taxes.
ID Theft: It is estimated that the SSNs of 20,000 to 50,000 Utah children are being used by someone else. Most of these stolen IDs are being used by illegal immigrants to obtain jobs. These innocent children will contend with all the fraud, crime and bad credit that become attached to their SSN. I will work to put a stop to document fraud by requiring employers to use E-Verify (a free service) before hiring employees.
Education: Private schools in Utah pay their teachers the same relative salary and have about half the class size as public schools. In addition they deliver a fine education and do all of this for the same relative per child cost as public schools. I believe these facts demonstrate the inefficiency and waste that is in the Utah public school system.
I believe our fine public school teachers are truly working hard to do a good job at educating Utah’s children. But they are hampered by bureaucracy and rigid teaching practices that do not allow them to implement new ideas and better teaching methods. The cost of our public school system is a perennial problem in Utah Government and must end.
I want MORE teachers, better schools and MORE parental control. But we need to consider that after many decades of government control history has shown that public schools may not be the best way to attain those goals. In any case, I will work tirelessly to cut waste and increase efficiency in the public education system.
Vouchers: I fully support a parent's right to choose how and where their children are educated. However, I favor a tax rebate over the voucher system. I fear that the use of vouchers will allow the government to set standards for those schools who accept them. This will in turn make Private schools in Utah the same as public schools, with all the same shortcomings and problems. I believe that current proposals for the voucher system will only give the government more power over Private Schools.
I propose instead that parents who choose to withdraw their children from the public school system and educate them in another manner (i.e. private or home schooling) be given a tax rebate. In this way, there would be no traceability as to how those families spend this money and thus the state would gain no control over Private Schools. Of course, the parents who opted for this system would be morally obligated to use this money for their children's education, but I believe that most parents care a great deal about their children and would use this money appropriately.
Second Amendment: As a Life Time Membership holder in the NRA, I fully support an individual’s Constitutional right to bear arms. I believe our Police officers do a fine job, and should be commended, but they simply cannot be everywhere at once to protect each individual at all times. This being the case, individuals must bear some responsibility for their own safety and I believe that firearms are a prudent choice. I support Concealed Carry Laws and Open Carry Laws. Statistics show that when such freedoms are upheld violent crime decreases and individuals are safer.

A Little Bit about Me and My Family
I grew up in Bountiful, Utah. I attended Bountiful High School and then graduated from Weber State University with a B.S. in Physics. I currently work as a Software Engineer at Hill Air Force Base.
I have always been politically active and consider myself to be fairly well read on traditional American Government. I have served as a State and County Delegate for the Republican Party. I switched to the Constitution Party because I like their constitutional outlook on Government.
When I married Carolyn, I definitely got the better end of the deal! We have been married for twelve years and have four beautiful children. Madison is 10, Jenika is 7, Nathan is 5 and Grace is 2 years old.
